Just got that call again too. Same thing, says their from a charity but won't be direct. I just left a message with the "Make a Wish" lawyer in case this is fraud. I told him of this website and that other people were complaining about the same number. Hopefully if it is a scam, they will be shut down.
I used to volunteer for a charity so I hate to see scammers give charities a bad name. I'll let you guys know if I hear anything. (It may be a while since he is on vacation). In the meantime, If you answer this number, please get as much info from them as possible and report back in case the lawyer does check this website. It would be awesome if the scammers get shut down!
Charity Telemarketers are EXEMPT from DONOTCALL as indicated on the DONOTCALL WEBSITE - I suggest you actually read what is and IS NOT COVERED (surveys and policals are EXEMPT as well)
if YOU do not wish to be contacted by telemarketers on behalf of charities - YOU HAVE TO TELL THEM TO PUT YOU ON THEIR DO NOT CALL LIST

I never agree to donate to an UNKNOWN callers claiming to be calling on the behalf of charites - because THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW if the caller is legit or not.
Also Telemarketers keep 85-90% of all donations recieived.
I only donate directly to the CHARITY OF MY CHOICE and I also make a point of telling the CHARITY to stop USING Telemarkters as NO ONE WANTS TO RECEIVE THESE CALLS..
