I just got a call from them as well. Automated phone call asking me to answer a survey on the nation's debt crisis. For my time I get a 2 day cruise to the Bahamas. Seriously???? I'm on the do not call list as well. Scammers....
I spoke to the woman (private individual) and her number is spoofed. She said people have been calling her back all day and this is such a huge problem. She gets people pissed off thinking she called them when the telemarketers have called using her number to hide their contact information. When will Caller ID spoofing tech be outlawed for telemarketers?
I know a man that owns a telemarketing company and I have seen for myself that they spoof Caller ID every time they call customers or make calls from the office outside the building.
A free cruise just for answering a short survey, huh??? Nothing is free. Did I mention that NOTHING IS FREE!!!!!!! And anyone who gives their credit card number (or any other personal information) to a total stranger deserves to be scammed. P.T. Barnum was right...there's a sucker born every minute.
Got this call about 5 minutes ago...Love the way these foreigners can't grasp spelling and hence the caller ID just reads "Beverly Hill"...Not "Beverly Hills," mind you, the real city, but they did somehow ghost a 310 area code and *almost* got the name of an exclusive city right. Probably some flipping identity theft organization working overtime on the holidays.
