I am about to cancel my home with AT&T. About +90% of the calls I receive on this phone are unwanted, unrequested, unexpected bothering calls with 310-409-0533 being only one of them. Sadly, canceling my service will hurt AT&T, not the companies and individuals that engage in thise useless business of calling to get who-knows-what out of you.
Check out post I'm replying to....she is right...they will donate 5% to keep it legal. Ask questions like...what branch of law enforcement? What division? What percentage? Keep asking questions to drill down to where the money goes. You will not have to ask to be removed from their list...THEY will remove you!!! They want uninformed people to give a lot of small donations so no one will complain about $25.00 or so....but if you sound informed, they will move on to some other sucker. They will take you off the list and you be called back in a year or so. But still report them.....the more people are aware the better.
I have U-Verse and have had no problems.
However, several years ago I changed my landline to a landline + DSL, same telephone number.
Then last year a lightning strike nearby killed my DSL modem so I changed to U-Verse, same telephone number.
I still get scam calls, but not very many. Some days, nothing. One day, got 8.
