Just received this same call from Michael Brown looking for a employee of ours. Big red flag because of the heavy accent. So I Bing the number and find your comment. I just watched the local news in our area last night and they had a story aired about these fake bill collectors. It is all a money scam.
I got a call from this # this morning at 7:16 am CST. Told me the same thing they have told all these other people. This "RONNIE COOPER" that I had to call back, was the same person that had called me at the same number. He asked me if I was who they where calling. Of course, it is my phone #, I replied, " Yes it is." He then began to tell me how he's a lawyer from a law firm in California, and that I was being sued and charges where being filed against me for not paying a payday loan back. He also told me that I had 3 different criminal charges against me for fraud. I cut him off for a second and told him, for ONE, I have never received any money from a payday loan company. He then told me, if I cut him off again, the phone call would be over and he would hang up the phone. He then began to read his script again, telling me that I had 3 criminal charges for fraud against me from the state of California. He knew where I worked, what bank I bank with, and he also knew the last 4 of my SSN#. I cut him off again, and I asked him what was the payday loan company's name that claims they gave me a payday loan? At this point, he began to tell me that he told me not to cut him off again, and he would be sending someone to my work to see me in the morning. And that charges will now be filed against me for criminal fraud. He then hung up the phone.
I then called my bank and told them about the call I had just received. They told me it was a scam and not to give any personal info. I'm glad I didn't. I also let my employer know about the call. If they "RONNIE COOPER" calls my employer, he will be transferred directly to the sheriff's office.
I've been calling this # back all day, on my #, and all it says is "WELCOME" then the phone hangs up. I asked a friend to call the same #, and a "RONNIE COOPER" answered the phone. My friend asked him what company he worked for, he said AMERICAN CASH ADVANCE. WTF!!! Who is "RONNIE COOPER?" He has a middle eastern accent. Does anybody know this man? 310-693-2421 is not the only # I can reach him at, but only from a different phone # other than mine. The other # is only 1 digit off of this one. It's 310-693-2422. Can anyone out there help me to find this MOTHER%$&#? I CAN'T STAND THESE DAMN SCAM ARTIST [***]!!

hi i got a call saying that they were taking legal actions on me and i had to call a guy named ronny kooper number 310-693-2421.. he had told me that i had gotton a loan from cash advance of 500 dollars and that if i didnt pay it by 930 11/10/2011 that the police would be at my door to arrest me i explained i never got the funds in my account and i didnt understand what was going on.. he told me he couldnt help me unless i paid the fufnds to have it invested gated and if i was teling the truth i would get my funds back but until i paid him the 500 he wasent going to help me and that ill be seen behind bars.
Just received a call from "Officer" Jack Thompson for one of my employees. Told me it was urgent she called back 310-693-2421. THANK GOD for this website. The heavy accent gave me pause so I Googled the number. My employee is young & may have paid this group of lowlifes
