Called my house 3x today. Got all offended when I called him (3rd caller) out on being a scammer after reading posts here. Hung up on him. Hopefully they got the message.
I got a call from 310-746-4871 from a Vanessa Padilla saying she works at American Financial Group and told me I owed over $2,000 on a bank account from 2006!!!! And gave me 24 hrs to pay it! She refused to send me a statement or a settlement aggreement in the mail, and will only accept payment over the phone. Now that I have seen all these other complaints about AFG, I KNOW this is a scam!!!!
If you have been called by "Todd Shaw" or "Bob Peterson" and want to have a laugh, search for "The Prosecutor" on youtube. He is a laughingstock of the internet.
Yes they are a scam. Just bill collectors that purchase old paperwork to see if they can can get you to pay.
When you find out who they are they change their company name to American Financial solutions & change their numbers as well almost weekly.
And all the names are fake except Todd shaw real name. Ha
