My caller ID from this number also said: NCO. They ask for a person that doesn't live here. When I told them that, they said that they'd remove my number and it would take up to 48 hours to do it. I have a high suspicion that it's a collection agency.
They Keep Calling My House & either leave no message or the recording says to press 1 if you are (unknown name) or 2 if you are not this person. I press 2 and am directed to press 1 once (unknown name)gets to the phone. How do I stop them, I can't even speak to a human being. I refuse to pay extra to have this number blocked
There are about 5 different numbers that have called me from Capital One. They usually ask for Vi. I have never used Capital One bank and certainly never will in the future. AND I DON'T EVEN KNOW ANYONE NAMED VI. And why does this website say, Thank you for your contribution"! at the bottom? Is this yet ANOTHER SCAM?
I'm getting the same thing as everyone else and when I do get a human--- they ask for Patricia. Here's the kicker- I bought my house from a woman named Patricia and because my address is her "last known" address, they wont quit calling me because my phone number is attached to this address. I've spoke with managers regarding this and the calls stop for a day or two but then start right back up. They even called on Memorial Day!!!
We've received a call from them today at that 310 number. On Memorial Day, they called from a different #: 877-803-8009. It appears to be the same company!
If this is NCO, they call upwards of 20 times a day from at least three different numbers:
310-862-9033
516-576-8785
800-803-8009
Does not leave messages, if you pick it up it's an automated recording asking you to hold for a representative.
The only thing they will respond to is threat of lawsuit. NCO is notorious for not following any laws regarding debt collection. Be sure to send them a letter via certified mail with return receipt demanding that they stop harassing phone calls or face a penalty of $1000 per occurance.
