To date this center has called 14 times. I answered one call and asked them to stop. Well, that only pissed them off, as now 8 calls later, it's like they have a personal vendetta. Saturday and Sunday wake up calls, and late evening calls. DAILY! How the hell do you get this to stop?
So, they started calling my phone yesterday (12/13/11), and I was at work and hadnt noticed the call until midnight when I got out. I figured if they wanted me bad enough they could have left a message. I work 3pm to midnight. when I go to bed I kinda wish to not be disturbed. I literally just woke up and heard my phone ring, same phone number 312-201-6801. I told them I did not want to participate in some stupid survey and the woman said the calls are selected at random by a computer and randomly dialed. BULL [***]. If the calls are randomly dialed, it means you have an automatic dialing system. I'm pretty sure your scripting will have a button to release as DO NOT CALL. I went round and round with the woman, her name was Amy Robinson - not too sure on the first name, and told her stop calling. I then asked for the supervisor whose name was Greg Robinson - not too sure on the first name again, but I was like...you both have the same name. I told the supervisor DO NOT CALL again. I work as a debt collector (GASP I KNOW!!!!) but dammit when someone says DO NOT CALL, you mark the account as DO NOT CALL! Simple [***] people. Also good customer service would to also NOT talk over someone while their talking. I made it clear I did not want any more phone calls. Hopefully they stop.
I just got the same call from NORC U CHICAGO 312-201-6801
saying she was calling about immunizations of small children. I said there are none here.
She went on to say something else, but I hung up.
What I found:
Respondents are also asked for permission to contact the children's health providers for the sole purpose of obtaining immunization records, providing an important supplement to the household report. NORC then sends an Immunization History Questionnaire via mail to these health providers – many of whom have previously participated in the NIS over the years and respond at exceptionally high rates. NORC produces estimates of coverage for all childhood vaccinations recommended by the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). Estimates are produced for the nation as well as for specific areas of the country, including the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and selected urban areas. These data are used by the CDC and state and local public health agencies to monitor the potential for disease outbreaks at the community level and to allocate resources for the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program, which ensures that all children in the U.S. have access to vaccinations regardless of financial status.
Like I would give someone on the phone my childs health information.
The caller ID: NORC U CHICAGO (CDC survey people) have called me at least 10 times and all I have let go to the answering machine. They will not let up. Supposedly this is a legit call. But what gets me is in this day with all the scammers getting our info, who can you trust?. The way I see it is if they really want me to take a survey and anwser personal Qs like family income they better send a letter with explaination. Besides, this survey/study would be best if submitted through the local level public health or school system. No survey for you!
