Wanted to verify information. I researched this with my local agency and found that this company also does verification for credit card companies. Have any of you applied for credit cards recently?
The same thing happened to me, that same place left me a message about they had tried to contact me before, but I did'nt know who they were.
Have not called Chicago illinois, probably won't, it does sound like some kind of scam to me also.
The message said they were Career Network, ladies name was jessica.
Hey, I as well have received a phone call from this number, no message. If you have recently (within the last few months) filled out information online regarding a job-search website, then that website may have sold your phone number to the "Career Network". I would advise ending your service to the job-search website if you do not want solicitors getting hold of your phone number.
I just received a call from that number. A person named "Amina" came on and wanted to verify the same information as everyone else has posted on here. She said she was calling on behalf of Career Network, so I asked for her website to check them out: www.career-network.com

received the same call as you guys Jessica from carrer networks and that they had tryed calling before. Saying that i had applied for a job in the last week. I have not so seems odd to me. but as usual proably bs.
The representive stated that she wanted to do a background check of my personal financial and employment history on behalf of an undisclosed employer. (I have been looking for a job on Monster, careerbuilder etc.)I tried to obtain the name of the company that was performing the background check for but she obsolutly refused to advise who was crawling around in my personal infomation. I don't know who these people are and what they do with my personal info. I feel very very incomfortable about relenquishing info over the phone to a complete stranger. Just because someone has a website does not mean that they are working with intigrity. I have received numberous scam employment invitations that if not aware I potentially could have lost money. If they were truely legit they could disclose which company they represent and the mystery would be over and comfidence built.
