I have been getting these calls regularly. Today I asked again to remove my number and do not call again. I was told he would not remove my number and he would call again. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told "no" I would talk to him first. As I was hanging up he muttered something about $34.00 a call. There must be a way to stop these calls. It will not be answered again. Caller ID was Brill Street L
This call showed up on our caller ID as: Brill Street L. They claimed to be Windows Technical Department in Walnut Creek, California yet the telephone number that they are calling from shows to be in Chicago, Illinois. He claimed that my computer was full of viruses. He barely spoke English and eventually gave me his supervisor that barely spoke English as well. He became upset with me when I questioned him and hung up.
Man with an Indian accent tried to tell me my windows operating system had been hacked. I told him I don't run a Windows machine and that he was running a scam. He tried to explain that "Windows is not a machine, it's an operating system..." as though my Mac runs a Windows operating system. This is clearly a scam.
Phone call came at 7:48 AM. ID showed from Brill Street L. Answered expecting another person. Person had strong Indian accent. Asked for me. I asked if they knew it wasn't even 8:00AM yet. They said it was important about my computer. I said [***] and hung up. Later in the day I hit redial on the number and got an operator message that the number I dialed was wrong and I should look it up and try again.
