"James" sent my boyfriend and I a text yesterday as well, wanting to hire a band for his anniversary on the 25th of July, even though our website is actually focused on piano tuning and guitar lessons, and we're only an acoustic duo. He didn't seem to mind that, and price was no problem. He even offered to rent a PA system since ours is in the shop. Same deal with the credit card.. could only pay with a credit card, and also wanted to add a photographer/videographer payment to our bank account, along with $60 tip. Oh, and he's deaf and out of town undergoing hearing treatment so he can only communicate through text. Yeah... don't let this Nigerian prince and his "lovely wife" scam you. He wants you to use QuickBooks and moneygram to "help him send $2770 to his video/photographer" ... obviously English isn't his first language and he copies and pastes the same texts. We're asking him for the songlist just to make him do extra work and see what stupid crap he sends back.
What was the date for his anniversary party? The dude's doing the same thing with me. I feel the same way about "James" . I'm going to try to meet him. I'll keep you posted.
This man texted me asking for my band to play for his 20 yr wedding anniversary, then asks me to make a contract and wants to pay with a credit card charging almost $3000.00 extra and to pay some decorator, which then became a photographer, etc... I have the texts. Of course, I did not do it.
Yes, this scammer used the same thing on me asking for a band for his 20th anniversary - including the credit card payment to the photographer. It's time the FBI caught up with him.
