Answered business phone. Line was silent until a male voice said "Good Morning". Then he disconnected the call. Caller Company is what appeared on the Caller ID
Caller said he was from Avaya, our telecom provider, and wanted to gather some information from me. I told him that the company directory has all my correct information andhe could refer there.
I asked him for his full name and Avaya employee number. The guy would not give me any information to prove he was legit, so I hung up.
Our company news has told us to be on the lookout for phishing calls, trying to get PII, and this smelled highly of a scam.
