Am sure it's a scam. Found call on CID when returned from out of town. We first caught on to the spoofing of charity names on CID when we were getting multiple calls every day for months on end reported to be the March of Dimes, which it wasn't. If people stopped becoming suckers to such ploys, they would stop.
Have now received 2 calls from this number with Caller ID "MDA" in the last 3 days. I finally got through to MDA National in Chicago. They confirm that they are making calls and that this number is one of theirs.
I the same 3 days I got 2 calls from other numbers with different Caller IDs.
MDA Organization/708-965-4487 - was also confirmed as theirs
Muscular Dystro/847-786-5177 - they could not confirm this was one of theirs
After 46 years of supporting MDA, I had them remove my name, address and phone number from their system.
I received calls from this number and one of the others that another poster had mentioned (708 965-4487). I've been a supporter of MDA for a long time, but have never gotten calls like this.
Same as everyone, caller ID said MDA.....If it's really MDA, how come 312-765-7946, 847-786-5177,
708--965-4487 all say the same thing. These [***] have called at 8am, 9am, 11am and 8:15pm, mostly in the last 2 weeks. I can't wait until someone tries to call again, I plan to pick it up, and as soon as someone tries to speak, I will yell: "go to hell!!!". If this is really MDA, they should be ashamed of themselves.....but I doubt it is, especially because the real MDA is a non-profit organization, and would use a toll-free number.....
