I got a call from this number also. Same IRS scam. If the IRS were after you, you would receive a legal letter in the mail, not a automated phone message. Blocked number...Is there not a real government department that can be notified about these scams?
Said we owed and were being audited for 2009-2014. Yes we owe, but then they said to me how much is in your bank account. Then they asked me if I wanted to get arrested or take care of this now. Threatened to put a lien on our house, freeze our bank account, etc.
They called back again and said, "Well?" I spoke to my mother in law who said that she has gotten several of these calls. When I told the man that I had contacted the police department and the actual IRS, he said "who told you this is a scam? I'm not scared of you. They will come up from Chicago and arrest you. Call the FBI."
Never give personal information to someone who calls you, even the IRS. Tell them you will have to call them back and check the number they give you to make sure that it officially listed. This call is a scam, probably from a foreign country.
