The best way to stop an advisor from calling is to answer your phone and tell them. they cannot close out your file without this because you are on autodial... dont want calls? answer and tell them!
I finally figured out how I got roped into receiving these relentless phone calls from Kaplan "University". Back during early summer (it is November as I write this), I went online and completed an informal questionaire to determine the best occupations for different personality types. It was a sidebar advertisement on some website I was reading. I completed the questions and they gave me my personality type and listed all the suggested occupations I might be interested in. I was happy, until... two online "degree" companies (I won't honor them by calling them universities, as they insist) started calling my cell phone daily, often twice a day. The number above ("Kaplan University") is still with me to this day. The other company was "Phoenix University", but they finally stopped calling me a month ago. Both companies are excessive in their phone calls. Please answer online questionnaires with great caution. At best, your email and phone will be inundated and they will try sales pressure to wear you down to join their "universities" and in the end, the degree is UNACCREDITED, and will not mean anything in your job search. This is a very lucrative business, and their websites look convincing. If you contact them, their sales staff is very good at talking you into coming in for a quick meeting. Trust your gut. Best of luck to everyone.
