they left a message on my machine that there was a legal action being taken against me on behalf of the IRS.. same scam goes around every year about this time. I don't answer.
Peerless is the carrier, not the telemarketer. That said, Peerless will forward do-not-call requests to their subscribers if you call them at (312) 506-0920
CID said "Circulation." I didn't answer, but voicemail got it and a man with a foreign accent left a garbled message that sounded like a cell connection with a weak signal. Sounded like he was saying something about a lawsuit, jury, etc. so it probably was the IRS scam. Definitely a scam of some kind.
Got a call, did not answer, called number back and anIndian/Pakistani lady, says US Treasury Dept, I told her she was full of crap and hung up. no call back from them
This caller threatened that a failure to respond would be understood as a blatant attempt to avoid appearing before a magistrate or a grand jury. "Please help us to help you."
