Has to be a scam. I never ordered or inquired about auto parts.
Here's the message that they left. My voicemail transcribed it.
“Yeah hi this is Jason from quality on regarding the request ___ ______ online I do have it in stock ______ me back on my direct number 1-800-505-5383 eight ___ ask for Jason I repeat it's one 800 505538 and ask for Jason thank you…”
Like those previously noted, I was searching for used auto parts online, filled out the form, and then was called within 3 minutes of submitting the form.
The caller said his name was "Charles" (heavily noted Indian accent) and he was calling from "Quality Auto Parts," regarding my inquiry.
Note: the caller id showed he was calling from phone number (312) 878-9158, in Illinois. VISIT THAT PHONE NUMBER'S INFORMATION AND LOOK AT ALL THE COMPLAINTS (http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-312-878-9158#p665510377545996544)!!!
The telemarketer provided all the information about my parts, gave a great price and then began pushing for me to purchase NOW so I could get the great offer.
I informed him I was gathering information right now, but could I get his phone number so I could call him back at a later date, that way he could get credit for the sale (I never give ANY personal information from someone who calls me! I always get their information, check it out, and then will call back if they're valid. Trust, but verify).
He gave me his toll free number (the one I'm commenting on), with his extension, and he said he would send me an e-mail with all my parts information, plus his contact info. Well 24 hours have passed, and I have yet to hear word one from him.
I don't trust the call, and would say to all others, "Caveat emptor!"
I filled out a form for a used radiator at an online junkyard search, and then I saw at the end that they wanted money for the search. I closed the page. the next day I received a call from a guy with an Indian accent. He would not send me a photo of my hard to find radiator until I paid for the part. I smelt a scam, thanked him for his time and hung up.
Was lookin for some used chevelle fender, a junk yard site came up si put in my info, then pops up the 699 fee so i close out of it, then i get 2 calls within a minute, searched the number found this, blocked it. Now they'll probably spam me on emails.
I google this whatever auto shop is and fill up some form and left my number and email. After awhile they emailed me and gave me this number and I never called. I don't trust this from the very start. After a week, he called me and ask my name and as he says a lot of things I repeatedly keep on asking how much then after about 2 minutes he gave me the price of $500+ and I said no thanks. He kept on saying "I can never find cheaper than that price and I ignored him but just a few seconds he said he got a better deal of $300+ and I was surprised "that was fast and way cheaper than what he gave me just a few seconds ago! I don't trust this guy. From his accent his from the Middle East. Indian accent.
I received a call from this place in Chicago , IL minutes after filling out a form looking for a engine for my Santa Fe. Even after telling him I had decided to have my engine rebuilded he got very nasty with me. Wanted to know what I was paying to have my engine rebuild. I quoted him the price and he said that was to much. That he was offering me a engine for 1300 with only a 30 day warranty. I told him I still had to pay someone to put it in.. Didn't know anything about the auto that this engine came out of or what problems this auto was having. I know what I've put in my car cause I brought it new. Plus the repair shop is giving me a 2 yr 24 miles warranty on rebuilding my engine. The jerk from Chicago than said the repair shop was getting my parts from a junkyard. How does he know where the parts are coming from? The engine he's trying to sale me is from a junkyard.
