Got a call from this number. No one on other end. When i called the number back, a recording said "call is no longer in service". How can a number be no longer in service if they just called?
I don't understand how something can't be done about this. Posting these notes is USELESS it seems.
It's very unnerving getting calls like this. When I answer...there is no one on the line. My number is unlisted! I have a feeling it has to do with Craigslist! I have been applying for jobs on there and have found that 80% of them are scams...information phishing scams... CRAIGSLIST needs to do something about WHO is allowed to post ads on their website. The ONLY place my number is listed is on my resume! So, someone has taken that information and is using it...or selling it. Craigslist is completely irresponsible and I don't understand why something isn't done!
It's me again...I want to make a suggestion...if you are posting here it may already be too late, but I am CERTAIN this is a result of having sent my resume to a job posting on CRAIGSLIST! When you attach your resume...DO NOT include a phone number, or your street address on the resume. I have been addressing it in my cover letters since the calls started...that I am not sending my personal information until I am certain I am dealing with a legitimate company. CRAIGSLIST is TOTALLY irresponsible in this regard and there is no way to get in touch with them to complain. It's pretty pathetic if you ask me. They HAVE to know these things are happening, but they do nothing. I keep seeing the same ads over and over. Another clue is... if the ad is full of misspelled words and an outrageous pay scale... DO NOT send anything to them. Use your common sense. But the scammers are getting better and more clever. Be Very Careful of your personal information.
