The number is probably a DID VoIP service. Meaning a local number which then connects/forwards via an internet connection to a phone number elsewhere in the world. Not configured means that the call forwarding and voice mail functions have not been set up. Not quite the same as spoofed numbers, but close.
todday this phone # left a small voicemail. it was automated and it was asking me "Are you 18 and registered to vote? Click 1 for yes Click 2 for no" then the call dropped because I did not respond. it is recorded on my voicemail. i live in chicago and this is a 312 call...there is an upcoming election so maybe that's what it's all about. i have had messed up calls from automated servcies that call me for market reseach. sometimes when you answer the call the computer cannot tell if you answered or not...that is why there is silence and then eventual disconnect.
i repeatedly get calls from this number. 5 this week. there's no one there when i answer, or when my voicemail picks up. i called the number and a recording says 'this number is currently unconfigured'. ????
Number showed up on my TV screen caller ID. Since it was a number I did not recognize, I didn't answer. The call went into voicemail, but there was no message.
