I got the call from same no 313 355 5249, a reorded message about my vechicle expiry. I got confused. Received second call fom 202 803 4977, but did not attend it after reading ll posts here. Thanks for alarming.
Got a call on my office phone 4:08 PM. Like others, robo-message said my car warranty was about to expire and I must call them back. I just chuckled. It's obviously a scam, since I am visually impaired, don't have a driver's license, and have never owned a vehicle a day in my life. So obviously they have an auto-dialer that dials every conceivable phone number combination in a given exchange in hopes of netting a few easy targets. I hate that kind of marketing, even from legitimate companies. Geico does it all the time - send junk mail to every possible address in a ZIP code, rather than doing actual research into who might actually be in the market for their product.
They called me with an urgent message that my cars had expiring auto warranties. OH MY GOD! Car A has 4 years left and car B has 2 years. Now that is service, calling me 24 months to let me know. God bless these people. They are looking out for me.
Car dealers sell your information to companies like this. They tell them what car you bought and how many miles were on it. Then these scammers try to sound like they are with the dealer or manufacture and sell you an extended warranty that isn't worth a pile of [***]. I would go to your car dealer and explain that you do not appreciate them selling your information to 3rd party companies.
