They said i was getting a $200 gift card and information about identity theft protection for 24.95 and 1 time fee of 6.95. wtf? The guy was talking so fast that it was hard to understand him. I told him that i was fine and he said the information will arrive in 3 days. They knew my name address and phone # nothing else though? How do i block crap like this.?
On or about the same day (4/24/09) someone calling from this phone number left a voice mail message on my phone. It was just a man laughing. It seemed strange. I didn't recognize the voice and there was no further message or subsequent calls.
I received a call from this number saying they were from Visa/Mastercard and that were going to give me a 500 dollar gas card. I think it may be a scam. They ask that you pay 6.75 for anti fraud insurance
I received a few calls from this number offering a $500 gas card for signing up for an identity theft protection program and some other program. They asked for $12.90, the total cost for sending out the information for both programs, and I'd pay nothing for the 2 week trial period. The caller knew the last four digits of one my cards which surprised me. It just didn't seem right. If it smells like a scam, it probably is one. I said no thanks and hung up.
