Left message about IRS lawsuit today at 12:30 pm . Thought it was odd that they didn't ask for anyone by name. IRS does everything thru the mail, and I live in the Midwest, why would I get a call from NewYork? Should be St Louis. Came in on landline that is used for faxes, so I will unplug my phone
Phone blocked the call, but recorded it, and it was from this number stating that is was a final notice and the IRS was bringing law suit, for something or other. I checked this number on the internet, and found this. Hope somebody is following up on this and prosecuting.
called this evening from the above number, pre-recorded message stated " that the IRS was filing a suit against me, to call this number back". Definitely a SCAM ! Too bad some gov. agency can't sue them for false claims trying to rep. the IRS.
I received the same message about some lawsuit the IRS has against me. I laugh, if anything I am owed money not the other way around. IRS method of contact is via mail. Bogus callers!!
