Got a call from this company and said was being sued for some unknown reason. I asked for details and they couldn't give any. Oh yea i live in CA btw lol.
There is a widespread attempt by criminal debt collectors to make attempts at extorting money from people, especially for debts that do not even exist.
Read this and go to the link provided to learm more about your rights:
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of the date of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Just got same call. They asked for me and I told them I was not home (obviously lied) they said I have 24 hours to call 18888639125 or they would be a civil case against me.
I received the same call and I also believe it's a scam. The call I received was today, 1/27/15. How long ago did you receive the call and did you ever find out whether there was actually a civil case against you or not. Thanks.
Received the same type of call on January 27th. They claimed to have a lawsuit against me, which I know false. Looks to be just another fishing trip for these criminals.
