On a side note, I called them back and they answered and said this is the irs, so I said yes this is the irs whom am I speaking to. they immediately hung up....lol
Received automated call from this number claiming to be IRS called at 8:30am, 10:30am and 12:00. I knew it was bogus as IRS sends official notices via mail. They did not ask for anyone and stated it was a lawsuit.
Of course I googled the number and found it was obviously a scam.
Same thing got this yesterday from a different number I did call back and got through told them I reported the scam and number to TIGTA Treasury Inpector General for Tax administration, they just laughed and said go ahead
They have a site to report scams at treasury.gov. I did this yesterday and thye had to change numbers.
