I am also getting these calls from this number. The number is listed as being in St. Cloud, Minnesota. I have no idea who "Jefferson Capital" is or whether these people are the ones calling my cell (I'd love to know how they got my cell @ since it isn't listed!) but I ignore all of these calls and do not answer.
I have also been getting calls from this number, and caller ID says St. Cloud. I do not answer any calls of #s that I do not recognize, and I have not answered this one either. Their calling is very insistent. 320-229-8093. I have also received calls from a number close to this one: 320-229-8418. Same thing.
I just received a call from this number and said they were "Jefferson Capital". They said they were calling to collect my Texaco account dept. I have some Texaco stocks but no credit card. I have absolutely no debt other than my mortgage; even my two cars are paid for. This is a scam. They ask me to verify my SSN to which I replied "absolutely not" and told them I would sue the pants off of them if they called me again.
CALLER ID says "COMPUCREDIT", I DON'T ANSWER AND THEY DON'T LEAVE MESSAGES.
I DON'T KNOW WHO THEY ARE AND I WILL NOT ANSWER THEIR CALLS WHICH COME EVERY DAY.
The call starts off as a recording that says, "Hold one moment for an important message." These people have called consistently for a couple of weeks. I've reported them to the Missouri No-Call List a couple of times, they quit for a couple of months, then try again.
We have no outstanding debts, so no collectors should be calling.
