The caller had a heavy foreign accent and was difficult to understand. He said he represented Microsoft and was calling to take care of some issues that Microsoft knew I was having with Microsoft Windows.  He directed me to simultaneously push the Microsoft Windows key and the "R" key on my computer keyboard, then to input the word "eventvwr" and push OK. He then told me to push "Custom View" and "Administrative Events", then he asked me how many events were listed. I replied with the number showing on my screen, in excess of 23,000. He then told me to simultaneously push  the Windows and R keys on my keyboard and to input   www.infosys.net   then push OK. This took me to a page where he told me to download the program "Teamviewer", which is a program to link 2 computers and allow a person to remotely control your computer.  I told him I already had the program on my computer and then he told me to open it and to give him the login information to my computer.  At that point I told him that he was seeking too much information and that I was reluctant to let him go any further with his investigation. He said that was my chioce. Then I politely hung up.  I have no idea whether he was a legitimate employee of Microsoft trying to help me, or if he was trying to obtain access to my computer for illegitimate purposes.  I suspect he may have been up to no good.

Scam call about bogus MS Tech Support....people have been falling for the scam...you would think the NSA could actually find them and shut down the scammers lines.

Scam/ phishing -  Called purporting to be from "Windows".  Heavy Indian subcontinent or similar accent.  Claimed there were lots of bad downloads happening and wanted to help me check my pc, without going online, to see if I had the latest software protection update. When I laughed and said "are you kidding?", he said "you won't be laughing when i take control of your computer and take all your money." I then said, "this is crazy, I don't even have a computer here." He said "oh that is a different situation" and hung up.
