I called the number back and got a recording saying it was not a working number.
Usually everyone in the house hangs up on these calls but our daughter got a real call from her credit card company after her account had been hacked and we almost missed it thinking it was these people again.
I got this call and when I heard the message, I listened up to the point to where he asked for an account number. I said hold on a minute while I get my credit card, then I put the phone down and never picked it up again. This will eventually get them to quit calling me -- I hope.
Actually, it does no good to go to the national no-call site or the FCC, FTC, state AG, etc, since these are often "spoof" numbers and without being able to really ID the caller, there is nothing they can do -- I know this because I have tried all agencies about these calls.
Just called me. I pickup and dial 1 to lower my credit card rates. Problem is I have no credit cards, or debt, for that matter. So I get the guy on the phone and he states I need a minimum of 3500 dollars in credit card debt to qualify. I tell him I have $17,000 in debt between 5 cards. He want's the card number for the highest interest rate so I ask him to please hold while I get the card. I then place the phone next to the tv and 10 minutes later pick it up. He's still on the line! I then hang up.
He calls me back and says we accidentally got disconnected. I told him it was no accident. I don't own credit cards and I'm tired of them calling all the time so I decided to string you out for awhile since you never honor my requests to no longer call my number. He got mad and hung up!
I do this everytime they call and the frequency with which they call has decreased dramatically.
have received a number of calls from this number. The are making a claim that they can reduce the interest rate on my credit card. Only problem is that I do not own a credit card. When I request to speak to a manager the person on the line claims to be a manager and once i start complaining they hang up
