I don't have a credit card problem and yet they want to fix it? Sounds like phishing and I hope my IP address isn't compromised by responding here! I can dump my OS and reload clean anyday. Hope I don't need to - if reporting to the FCC does nothing, well, I'm guessing that's what this site is about. If so. screw you [***] - I'll shove a telephone pole or cell tower up your [***] when I find you!
We get calls from these spoofed numbers several times a week, generally waking us up. We HAVE no credit cards. The "googled" number on the caller ID tracks back to a Tentmakers civic/social organization who I'm sure has nothing to do with the calls.
Since asking them to quit calling doesn't work, I push "1" and when the person comes on the phone i either scream as loudly as I can, rendering the person deaf in one ear, or just begin shouting the foulest obscenities I can imagine. Doesn't get me off the list, but makes me feel better.
Yes, I just got the same call from St. Cloud, MN ... same message and I just hang up. Went to the No Call list to file a complain. Last week I called my phone carrier and they supposedly put a privacy block on my number which, obviously, does not work ... or with the Saint Cloud, MN on my caller I.D., the block doesn't recognize it. The other robocalls were from a consumer service with a different number.
That's the exact same call I got at about Noon today [6-28-2011] These calls are such a pain in the butt and I don't know how you can get them to stop! Yeah, I just disconnect, too!
If you are with Bresnan Communications and getting these calls, one of their phone techs told me you can press STAR 60, wait for a confirmation message, then put in the 10-digit harrassing number, and you'll get a message that the number has been added to a blocked list of numbers. You can do this for up to 12 numbers. Well, I'm certainly going to try this!
