I just had the same experience with this number. I also tried to talk to someone but they refused to talk. The automated message says the company is called "Cardmember Services" but I do not know if that is a real company or not...
This is a SCAM ... any time you get a call offering to "lower your interest rates" its a scam people. Your credit card company NEVER wants to voluntarily lower your rate ... EVER ... in the history of FOREVER!
Even if this isn't just a straight up rip off, if it's "technically legal" then it's some sort of debt consolidation program which is worse on your credit than bankruptcy or its a loan. The kind of loan offer that "you can't refuse" at 800% interest with a balloon payment of '1 kidney'.
Just block these jagoffs or ignore them and move on/never speak to them. The reason criminals like this persist is because you people keep answering the phone and talking to them.
Same as above. I missed the call, but the message started with "Press 1 to speak to....now..."
On calling back, the intercept message said the number was out of service or could not be dialed from my area. Definitely a scam and my number is listed on the Do Not Call Registry...another scam? Hmmmm.
Received call; connected with the a person, requested to be removed from the call list as they are violating Do Not Call Registry and the abruptly hung up. Called number back and it said it was disconnected.
They call every 2-3 days from a different number. I reported them once, but with the constant number changes, I imagine hard to track down.
