Similar called HR dept where I work and provided a case number, said I had 2 hours to call back or failure to appear, blah blah. Said they were a law firm Berg and Associates.
This is a VOIP number from Los Angeles, California. They claim to be a law office and you have a problem. It is a SCAM. DO NOT give these people money. There is a whole slew of scams going around spoofing numbers from the IRS, DOJ, local law officials etc. They leave a different number and for a fee you can solve the supposed problem. Be careful and check out any such claim. Check your call back number, if it isn't registered to the body that claims it called it is a fraud.
These people have been calling me with threats that I am being sued. I refuse to give them any personal information and threatened them with reporting them to authorities for harassment. DO NOT give out your personal information to these people!!!
same number called me claiming to be Bergan Associates, say they had attempted to serve me 3 times for a court date. gives a different call back number 1-844-279-7600 which when I called is answered Kellar Legal Group. For a bogus debt. They are relentless, have called my husband employer, my out of state daughter telling them I will miss my court date. I called and asked them to validate my bogus debt. they refused. I asked them to give me there address so I could send a ceste & desist letter. they gave me a fake address. 355 South, Los Angeles, CA 90071... A real pain in the butt. changing there story when I told them I called my state police & sheriff office to see if there was a summons for me that they had tried to deliver 3 times. They said I had no summons... and Beware of these scammers. I have reported them to all I can.
This number called me from an "unknown caller" number (blocked) and left a very rushed and threatening message saying that someone I am related to has been unsuccessfully contacted to deliver legal documents and that I needed to call them back to set up an appointment to deliver these documents today if I didn't want to face further legal issues. Upon doing a reverse look up on the number that they left (323) 238-5089 based in CA, I see this site with other people saying that it is a scam. I notice that all of the comments here have been left over the past 10 days or so. I thought it was odd that I could barely understand the message that the woman left, and when I called the number back a very rude and snooty man answered the phone and laughed at me when I told him that I was not the person they were trying to contact and they needed to remove my number from their call list. Needless to say, the only thing I could do was hang up. I can't wait to see what happens next.........
