Someone call my job today and tell my store manager she have court papers to deliver for me she told them they not allow on my job so they her case number the lady name
Received a call from 323-282-5910. Stating they were calling from a law firm on behalf of HSBC Sony Account gone bad. After he read off to me my partial social security number, Full date of birth and physical address. I told them that thy had the wrong person. They stopped calling my number and began calling a family member of mine that lived clear across the country waking them up early in the morning. The catch is that I never used this family member as a reference to get this account. Therefore they must be getting their information from a pooling source that creditors use to pool customers information. (I was told) Never the less I will be faxing and mailing letters to this company to cease all phone calls to myself and references or they will be sued.
It would be helpful to put the company name and address up here so that we could check them out for other people. LDA does not really give us anything to go on.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of the date of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

This is a scam number, they leave forceful voice messages on the phone to try and scare you into paying them money you don't owe. The guy that called me had a heavy foreign accent that he was trying very hard to sound like he was from America. He would not leave any information as to who he was with and used a bunch of "official" county numbers to try and sound official. In contacting our local county, no such numbers exist in their system.
Total SCAM as 99.9% of these guys are.
