They call random numbers, if the person answering the phone sounds strong, young, or aggressive they hang up. If the voice sounds older, weaker, kinder, confused, they start there rant trying to get the caller to give up personal info to use against them.
My parents received a call yesterday from this number. The person calling was phishing for information from my parents. pretending that he was a relative currently in Mexico, and making his way to LA to visit. "Don't you remember me, aunty? Come on you have to recognize my voice. You know who I am." Once my parent said one name the caller took that name an ran with it. he asked my parents for there address so he could "..visit and maybe stay the night." My parents got suspicious and told him to call back when he was in the US. I told my parents the guy sounded like a con artist, and not to give him any information. If he called again they should ask him Family information only real family should know.
The guy called back today. When my parent started asking questions (what's your sisters name, when's her birthday, your grandma's name) he knew his game was up and got abusive. My Dad told him he was a thief and the line went dead.

got a call from this number said I was not AT HOME SO HE WANTED ME TO CALL HIM BACK the same Kevin Matthews from the other numbers. the number he wanted me to call him back on was 631-532-8144. thats the number from N.Y. how do they do that.

I got a call from this number and when I called back it asked for my pin number. I think it is Phishing phone number that is trying to get people to input as many of their PINs and they can then hack their accounts.
