Got a call from this number and they left me a message stating that they were from the IRS and I am being sued so please call them back. When I returned the call it was a male subject with a middle eastern accent. He needed my name, zip code and date of birth. I asked him if I called the IRS number from the internet if they would tell me that it was a legitimate call. He told me, go ahead, why don't you do that. He was very rude.....
got the same message yesterday. The IRS doesn't call, they send info thru the mail.
Shouldn't this be considered a Federal Crime for impersonating a Govt Agency ??
I let call go to voicemail. Person with a foreign accent said I should return the call ASAP, but gave no info on the nature of the urgency. Judging by other comments, the scammers have been busy today.
I go the call and googled it immediately. From the previous messages, just as I figured scammers. The IRS doesn't call. They contact vial postal service.
