Well they called again! These people just don't give up. Says he is from Windows Technical Dept. Ask his name and he said Peter Anderson. I asked where he is and he said San Francisco. I asked his phone number (altho it was on caller ID) and he told me he didn't have a phone. I said...oh really, then how are you calling me? I started to laugh and he said....what are you laughing about? I said.....I don't even own a computer. He said......don't laugh, this is my job. I told him to get a new job and hung up. Heavy accent and no way was his name Peter Anderson. I am reporting it to https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx
These people are relentless
Just got a call from the number and like many people on this board-male with middle eastern accent claiming to be from WINDOWS 7 support-I said would that be MICROSOFT (I am already very suspicious at this point) and he said YES, so I continued to let him tell me about my "online infection" and the error messages his server keeps getting from my home work computer. I asked him if that was my Home PC or my Work PC and he said it was my home PC. When I told him about my anti-virus running clean, he proceeded to tell me that AV machines don't detect these ONLINE INFECTIONS -so, being the girl that loves to play, I said, well since I haven't used my home PC in several weeks, I wanted to know when he got his latest report of infection and if there was a "repair" file he could email me-and he abruptly hung up.. WHAT? I wanna play some more...
Speak of the devil.. Was just conversing with someone about this tech scam thing! Picked it up and hung it up! ROFL! I wasn't feeling much in the mood to mess with any of the scammers at the moment. Hasn't tried to call back though so far! If it does, I'm ready for it,lol!
2/17 11:31apprantley tried to call while I was out, although I wouldn't have answered anyway, since I don't know the number and no ID shown. Didn't leave message, so OH WELL, can't be too important.
Got a call from this number instructing me to redeem my "gift card" by pressing 1. Thought I would put it out there that this scam has been referenced in other states, but that this California number just called me about it.
This company called and said that my computer had a problem and he would fix it. I told him that I didn't need him to fix anything and for him to not call back. His response was F*ck Y*u and would I like to spend the night with him.
