I was charged on my visa by a company with the same phone number. I tried to call them to see what the charge was but all I get is a busy signal. I think it is a scam. I didn't authorize any charges.
I too had $4.98 taken out of my Chase checking account today from Select Design Art. Since I check my account twice a day (morning and late evening), this was not shown on my checking account until this morning (10-6-2009). I had my card canceled and filed a dispute with my bank. The bank manager told me that numerous people had been calling her to dispute the same transaction from the same company. She said she would notify the Fraud Department and inform them about this company and perhaps they could
put a block on this company. I last used my debit card at a grocery store (Giant Eagle) so I am unsure how my info was gleaned. Anyway, my card is no longer active and I will receive a new card in about 5-7 days.
Same thing just happened to me today. A charge for $1.98 on my VISA from Select Design Art in Laguna Hills, CA. Received the same number and got nothing but a busy signal. Will be cancelling my card today!
20 mins after I logged on to check different secure sites I use, I received notice of a 4.95 to my husbands cc. I do recall a popup that got thru my spyware to become a secret shopper but I deleted it. I don't know how they got my husbands Suntrust bank card number as it is nowhere on my computer ever. We never use that card. it was only for emerg.
