I just called and left a message to be removed from the call list. I do not understand why these groups think this is a successful way to get money because most of us are too damned busy tone bothered with calls to groups we already donate to. All they do is alienate the donors. Goodbye, ACLU, for using these pests
Call ID said ACLU, did not answer, and caller left no message. I never have donated to the ACLU, assuming this was Tom @ Donor Services, you are a fraud.
I keep getting calls from this company and decided to look them up. After reading the CEO's comment here, I decided to point out something he neglected to mention... According to To the New York Attorney general's "Pennies for charities" report, in 2013 Donor Services Group took in $22,345,537 in funds and gave over $11,693,304 to the charities that hired them... They kept just under half of what was intended for the charities... But in some cases the percentage given over to the charities was far lower (as much as 3.94%). I doubt the solicitors calling make light of the fact that DSG is taking such a big cut. The law should require all professional fundraisers to state up front what their cut of the donation will be. Until that day come treat them all with suspicion and research their past activities.
