I got a call from this number and was relieved to find out it is the ACLU, I have sent money to help stand up against the NDAA, and restore some Civil rights that have been walked upon.
I get a call from this number once a day for the last month! I have never answered. I feel like my privacy is being invaded. I never asked the ACLU to call me when I donated money. I thought this was a good and respectable group and now I know differently! I'm never giving them another dime of my money again and I'm going to burn the shirt they gave me. As for you Bob, I don't care if you feel like it's for a good cause. Making everyday unwanted phone calls does not justify anything just because you think it's for a good cause. My life is being irritated by your everyday phone calls and that is uncalled for. I wish I had your personal phone number so we could all call you everyday and beg you for money! I have so bills I need to pay, which is for a good cause too! Can you help me? I doubt it. Get a real job instead of one you sit on your [***] all day bothering hard working people.
Honestly, I am more annoyed with the ACLU than with this company because I never gave them permission to give my information to ANYONE else. Seeing as this is a group that is committed to protecting civil liberties but cannot even commit to their donors' privacy, I am quite sure that I do not and never will again support them.
Tom, I understand your position or that of anybody that has ever worked in a call center because I have. You get screamed and yelled all day long for little benefit even if the person has given their information to that cause. But this is gross. & I am no more pleased about this than any of the people on here. It sounds as if your callers are not making a real commitment to your cause, if your cause is even legitimate, or even honoring the requests of those who asked to be taken of the list. That is reprehensible and I'm not sure that you will ever get anywhere if you do not reform your policies.
But I feel no need to talk to them. There's a nifty block option on my phone that makes sure I do not have to take these annoying calls ever again.
I got 2 calls from that number but I was not home.
1) I'm not married to my phones (home/cell).There is a excellent chance I not going be the person answering the phone. I don't want someone bothering me on my cell phone - especially while I am at work. Most likely I just don't answer or close the phone if I the caller is wasting my time/boring me.
2) I am struggling just to keep my head above water - I just CAN"T give cash nor my time to anyone charity - I need assistance myself (my planned vacation for Oct was cancelled because of lack of funds.
REPEAT - I do not, will not and will never give money to anyone who call me, snare mail, e-mails or walks up to me. PERIOD !! I just can't do it.
Be aware of that & there is no one willing to give this Below Average Joe a helping hand - it's even worst when the political election call starts coming in - especially when the 2012 election was way too much for me to handle especially I was popping blood vessels with anger.

I will not answer or curse and close the phone with no warning. I f****** sick & f******tired of people begging me for money and when I NEED FINANCIAL HELP - SOMEONE GIVES ME THE ONE FINGER SALUTE !!!
Go ask the super rich like Gates not me who could be 1 paycheck away from sleeping in the streets.
