I made the stupid mistake of adding my phone number to a site to be paid for surveys stupid me. I get these friggin foreigners calling me! Don't do it it's a trick! I answer just to tell them to take me off the list. They just call from a different #. I've just started blocking the #s. Oh, and only once, but texted me for a car loan.
Also if you apply for a job online you will get non stop calls from recruiters I'm such an idiot! Bottom line don't give out your phone number or email address unless you want to be harassed and mad! Take it from me, but I guess if you're reading this you've already been harassed!
Look up the do not call list. It is a site from the cdc. It is a recorded message. They will register your number, cell or home phone. They want you to call from the phone you want on the list. However, it doesn't take effect for 31 days. After that, you can get back online with them and file a complaint if they continue to call. They're annoying and continue to call even when you tell them to stop and take the number off their list. I've had 3 calls from this number tonight within 3 hours. Hope this helps.
Call blocking doesn't work because they are using spoofing to hide their real numbers. Believe me, I've tried. They're calling me anywhere from 8 to 15 times a day. I have blocked 8 numbers on cell phone so far. However, some numbers contribute to call despite being blocked because of the spoofing software.
It started a few days ago. I notice that these comments are all pretty recent so this must be a new wave of attacks. And that's what it is, an attack. It's horrible and the FCC needs to do something about this!
