Received a call from this number early this morning. They left a very garbled voicemail and all you heard was something about a conviction and trial. They said I owed the IRS $5,000 and that if I did not pay it right away that they would have a Marshall come to my home, arrest me and take me to Washington. Two males with an accent and very aggressive. They advised me not to tell anyone about this debt and even asked if I had a criminal lawyer!! I almost fell for it but when I spoke to my accountant he actually laughed and said it was a scam.
They called me 7:40 Saturday morning and called themself " U S department of Treasury " I knew it was scam,just told him look at your time then call people and hung up!! They got my number and call me with different numbers and different title every few months . People , IRS or department Of treasury never call and ask for money , they send you a letter. The phone number was (323 )729 3662
Just got a call from this number. Garbled message could barely understand them. Something about US and Grand Jury and to call a separate number. Could not understand the number. Who in the government works on Saturday? I live on the east coast and this was from L A in California.
We received the same garbled message today, Saturday from this "David Grey". I recall receiving the same message around tax time. His accent sounds to me like it has a mix of India / English (U.K.).
He said, "Hi, my name is David Grey and this message in intended to contact you regarding an enforcement action executed by the United States Treasury intending your serious attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid initial appearance before a Magistrate Judge or a Grand Jury for a federal criminal offense. My number is 3237293662, I repeat its 3237293662. I advice you to call, speak with us in order to help you."
Same robo call as the others have reported. Can it be blocked? I'm on the Do Not Call Registry for PA and Nationally.
Obviously, it's totally disregarded by these jerks. The phone number was listed as: 323-729-3660.
