I got tired of these calls so I put a whistle on my table by my chair. Then when I got one of these calls I would grab the whistle and blow it as hard as I could. I've had some that never got the idea and just kept on with their spiel. So now I just don't answer calls I don't recognize. I've placed all my phone #'s on the "Do Not Call List" but that doesn't seem to matter to any of these con artists. I have answered some and played with them, and if I can't understand the person I say so and hang up, then immediately place that number on my block list. I was getting calls from overseas so I contacted my provider and they put up a block of those numbers for me. I still got a few calls right after that but it would only ring twice then stop. Now I don't receive them at all. What a lot of these con artists are doing is routing their calls through a U.S. server, so it can look like the call is being made from a U.S. # or possibly even a local area code, which makes you believe its someone you might know and thus answer it. They use all kinds of tricks to try and fool you so beware. BTW I got a call from this number today, 5/19/16. I didn't answer, no voicemail, so they go on the block list.
Got a call from 3237413873. The caller ID only listed it as a call from California. No one answered when I picked up, but they stayed on the line in silence for awhile. Then click. I usually don't pick up if I don't recognize the number.... I have been getting at least 10 calls a day and sometimes the same one calls multiple times with the hour. Very annoying.
Caller ID says 'California'. Call center drone starts spiel that the call is being recorded and is Suddenlink (which is my cable provider). Started off a hard sell on cable package. The funny thing is that I got a call allegedly from Suddenlink last week trying to sell additional services. I told him that they called last week and as I told them then I do not watch TV and was not interested. That threw him for a bit and he took a few seconds to sputter and find a place to continue, then when he started going again I interrupted him and told him to never call me again. Yes, my number is on the Do Not Call Registry, although that means exactly nothing until the government that set the registry up will start going after offenders.
