Was called by this number requesting a call back by an attorney or myself. They claimed to represent the IRS but I suspect it is a fraud/scam because when I called, the person at the other end tried to extract personal information from me.
They have bogus names with 'officer' preceeding the names.
Got the recording telling me to return the call (323) 744-6841. I was supposed to have my attorney call, or I should call before they take further action. I did report it to the IRS from the site posted here. The IRS has an online form you can use.
Totally the same....multiple messages left on home answering machine. Called back - they wanted my last 4 of social..I told them they were the IRS and told them to tell me the last 4. Was hung up on 2x by them. 3rd time they wouldn't answer the phone. I used my cell to call back and put *67 and their # which shows a withheld or unknown incoming call and they didn't answer than one.
just got a call from the same number asking me for my social security number. I told him he can look up my name and information by the phone number they have been calling. The person said they couldn't that way. I asked how do I know this is really the IRS and the person said call your local IRS and that they will be proceeding and hung up.. Total scam..
