Claims to be from US treasury Department calling about legal action being undertaken in my name. Indian accent, asks to transfer you to the US Treasury Department. When I responded that I'd call the Treasury Department Itself he said 'Ok, thank you. Goodbye'.
Also received message on answering machine from this caller stating the same.
I got the same call (same number) from a man stating his name was Chris Wilcox from the US Treasury Dept. but had an Indian accent and broken English. The message stated that he "hopes I take this message right" and that it is a "verbal notification of enforcement action that happened against me" and that if I am "busy to call, I should get my region attorney to respond".
I had a voicemail from the same person. He said his name was Chris Wilcox (Indian accent, difficult to understand). He said he was calling from the Department of the US Treasury, Labor Affairs, and that this is a "verbal notification of enforcement action against my name" and I couldn't understand the rest but it was basically to have my attorney respond.
A client received a call on or about 9-17-14 from a "Victor" at this number. She was told he was with the US Treasury Department and if her 2011 taxes weren't paid immediately, they would put a warrant out for her arrest. Obviously a scam, my guess is they are hoping for credit card payments over the phone?
