This totally just happened to me. My cousin called me saying that someone called him telling him my name apparently and that I was finally coming home to bring my son to visit all the family for the first time. Thing is, I haven't seen or spoken to my cousin in 25 years. He said the caller didn't ask for money, she was just letting him know she was on her way. When he tried to call her back, there was no answer. I live several states away from this group of family. I have no idea who called and how she had my name. I'm hoping my cousin misunderstood that part. The phone number that came up is the one listed on this site.
I just received the same call today! It was the same scammed call as above, telling my wife that her nephew was coming to Toronto Canada,after! asking for money and that he was dented by Mexican authorities and needed $ 2000 dollars.My ask continue asking name of her family and the scammer could not swear all question she then stopped the scammer by telling him that the phone will be reported to the FBI ,CIA,Scotland yard. then he got scared and hanged up the phone.

We aware that this individual is a real scam. He wanted me to guess which one of my relatives he was. Not sure if it was a coincidence but he gave a name of one of my relatives. I searched the phone number and it is from someone in the US that speaks Spanish. I contacted my relatives and nobody is coming for vacations to see me at this time.
this same guy called me yesterday!! he sounded like he was so happy to hear from me and asked me to guess who he was!! I thought it was maybe one of my uncles in Argentina because he was speaking spanish.. I don't speak it very well, he kept asking me if I knew where he was calling from.. I said Argentina?? (didn't realise he was fishing cause I actually have family there) and then he asked me who I remember from argentina (again fishing) so I just named one of my uncles ( that I never met) and he proceeded to say he was that oncle!! I really believed him and thought he wanted to speak to my father but I told him he was away for a few weeks.. He then told me he was coming to Toronto from mexico and was gonna call me and asked for my cell so I gave it to him.. I called my dad right after and told him what happened and he called that uncle and he said he never called!! I was home alone and so freaked out I almost called the police.. then came across this site.. WOW such scam artists out there..
I got a call from that number again today and didn't pick up..
If he calls again I'll be sure to tell him to go f*** himself in my broken Spanish.
