I got a call from this number which I wasn't going to answer but decided to. The guy starts out friendly with "Hey, how's it going" with a Mexican accent. I said, "What do you want. You are calling the wrong number." He utter a bunch of profanity and I hung up. Added this to my blocked number list.
My dad got a call from this person claiming it was his nephew . My dad asked him which one he responsed by saying " you dont recognize me". At first he called saying he was near by and wanted to visit, and asked if he still lived in the same place. Then a couple of hours later he called saying he was in an accident and that the person wanted to speak to him. The man wanted money to be sent to Mexico even though they clain to be in the U.S. Thankfully I was home cause it sounded suspicious to me and decided to hound them with personal questions he wasnt able to answer; he acted offended and was like 'you dont trust me your family ' and hung up.
Known as the 'Grandparent scam'. Person calls, then needs money. Accent, arrested, no gas, you name it. M.O. is always the same. Wants you to use a cash wire transfer service to send money. Scam.
