My 74 year old Mom got a call from this number from a guy claiming to be her grandson, Artie, and that he knew that she had been sick and he hadn't come to see her. Felt bad and that he wanted to take her out to eat. She told him that she would be going to see the Dr in the morning so that for him to call her before he came over. When he called this morning, she told him she was still at clinic and he told her that he needed to cancel the lunch date as he had been in accident. He had rearended someone and needed some money so that the person wouldn't call the cops on him. He was calling from this number as he had been on his cell and had dropped it and that was how the accident had happened. My Mom got so nervous about it that she wired the $900 that he was asking for. Later he called back again saying that his truck was in such bad shape that he needed to get a mechanic to help him and he needed another $500. I got on the phone at that time and started asking questions and telling him that I needed to talk to his Dad, my brother, about this and he said that his Dad had gone to the clinic with the man's daughter that had been badly hurt. I told him that I would call him on the cell and he said there's no reception where he's at. He had taken a taxi to the clinic and there was no service there as no cell phones were allowed. He said he would call back later and I finally got a hold of my brother who helped us realize that this was a scam. Please don't fall for these stories as when we called the cops to report it, he said that there were several folks in town that this had happened to, one lady in particular that has paid thousands.
Told me the exact same name.. Did he claim to be your cousin too? Lol i guess we're all related here! i have caller-id but i insisted that he hand me his phone # to call him back.. Yea he hung up on me.
I just got a call from this number 331 925 9048 this guy called me last year also this area code is from ILL. near chicago and i hung up the phone mucho ojo camarads
