To everyone who commented on this post. These people are scams. Dont listen to anything they say. I reported to the police and even the police said their scams its just hard to track them down.
I just received a call from this number. It was a male with a very thick accent. He left a threatening voicemail not evening identifying who he was or where he was from. The message said something to the effect that I will get arrested if I don't call him back. I googled American Cash (the co. others above have mentioned) & there is a consumer alert in Washington State & it sounds like the same scam. I tried calling the number back & it is constantly busy. I was only calling them back to tell them that I am reporting them to the police & that they had better never call my number again. This is obviously a scam!
a michelle jones* who had a very strong accent from india-threatened me with arrest & jail time if i did not pay amount of $684. something about a cash advance that was never repaid. had no clue what she was talking about! i asked her to send me a copy of this affidavit & she yelled at me i must pay 1st & it had to be with a prepaid crdit card. kept calling & calling. i have 1 message i saved on my phone at the threats she gave me. i had my lawyer call them back & they told him they cant give him any information!! really? you cant send a lawyer info on a lawsuit?? complete scam!!
This caller continues to harass one of my colleagues, with insane requests to send a prepaid Walmart gift card to avoid being arrested tomorrow. When asked who he was, he stated his name was Ben Smith and he was calling to alert her that she would be arrested for 8 days without seeing a judge for unpaid debt. He then stated he will try to see if there is anything he can do-at which point he came up with sending over 700 dollars on a prepaid Walmart card via phone- and this would avoid her being arrested and solve the problem.
He tried to legitimize his claim by providing address details and such; if he has any bank account information alert the proper identity fraud authorities immediately. Unfortunately, personal addresses and phone numbers are easily found on the internet or phone books and this should not be too alarming, but anything like bank account numbers or social security should require immediate action to prevent this idiot from compromising your identity.
He spoke with a heavy accent and was persistent, acting angry when we tried to call him out for his stupid antics and called back several times when we tried to transfer him to the Sheriff's office.
Tell this immoral idiot that you will simply report him to the authorities and you are aware that he is conning many people according to various sites on the web. Do not waste time with this waste of space. I'm sure his tactic, as utterly ridiculous as it sounds to most of us, actually tricks some vulnerable people into sending some money and thus perpetuates his stupid scheme. Imagine- calling several hundred people in a week at which 20 people actually send you money- that could be anywhere from 10,000 to 20,000 if those folks are sending 500-1,000 dollars each.
Report this to the authorities and hopefully they will be able to stop this if enough people complain.
the person that is calling on the other end has a heavy indian accent and he is very harrassing calls multiple times a day and is very rude he has cursed at me and even started to harrass me on the job its becoming a lil bit over whelming how can this be stopped
