vova is at it again (he or she?) texting from 1-614-379-3146 and email [email protected] to a listing on craig's list asking me for my info to send a check. Purporting to be a US Marine. just to let you folks know.
Alexis, take a couple of deep breaths and calm down. You will have to take that check to the bank - do NOT cash it - it's evidence of this guy's fakery. There's no way to get that person to pay the bank back - he's a scammer and if you sent money to another person, she/he's also a part of the scam. You have to tell your parents and/or grandma, because the situation with the bank account will not go away. It's not easy to 'fess up when you've messed up - you have to do it though. Not dealing with this will make it much worse. Look, the bank is going to contact you/your dad and tell you that that first check is bogus - and as a victim of a scam, it will be a lot better for you if you go to them ASAP and tell them what's going on.
You know what? It may seem like the end of the world to you right now, but it's not. IF you deal with this, take steps to talk to your dad, grandma, and the bank, and learn from this. There's a reason older folks sometimes says things that you young folk don't always like to hear - it's because we've already been there, done that, got the T-shirt. Don't freak out - talk to your dad and grandma.
The scammer might not be in the USA.
Many of these scammers are overseas, and spoof the Caller ID number you see.
They can take the moneygram number, and "cash" it just about anywhere.
However, here are two pages of links to (mostly government) sites in Canada and the USA were you can report those scams, or learn more about them.

If the reporting site you wanted is not in the above list, try this one:
