Have received many calls from these people with threats to be sued and taken to jail. Have looked up their #'s before and they were coming from Tampa. This one however is in Brooklyn, New York. Man says his name is Charles Brown (original) and as always has a thick Indian accent. I told him that I know he and his fake company are a fraud. Please do not give them any money or personal info. They should go get a real job and stop insulting our intelligence!
I have had the same James Mathew call me and insisting that I owe a company money. That there is an affidavit out on me. When I try to get as much information as I possibly can he gets upset and hangs up. I have told him that I am not giving him any info unless I see something in writting. He tells me that if I give him a conformation of a correct account then he will send me some information. The part that scares me is that he has so much personal information. Any thoughts?
I received a call from a heavily accented man who called himself Joseph Williams (I doubt it). Also, my boss at work was called stating legal action would be taken against me and her re: a loan I never took. This is very scarey but I'm glad this is a well known scam operation. This harassment is terrible for anyone, especially for those who are threatened with legal action, imprisonment, etc.
Heavily accented man named Joseph Williams (I doubt it) called me on my cell phone and at work when I wasn't there and told my boss there was legal action against me and her. Embarrassing since I do not owe them anything. This is clearly harrassment and needs to be stopped. It is scarey too, but I'm glad to know I'm not alone in this matter.
This is a scam and he is not a debt collector for a legitimate agency because the tactics that he is using are illegal. I answer a switchboard and am dealing with the same jerk. He's overseas using voice over ip so there is little the authorities can do to stop him. Educate yourself on the Fair Credit Act and you will see what he's doing is illegal. He is even threatening me with arrest for refusing to put his calls through. After talking to an employee and doing research online I can tell you that these people get your information off of fishing websites that they have set up. They often know your information because without meaning to do so, you gave it to them. One individual said that they filled out a form online for a loan and when they got to the end they realized it was a payday loan or one with an enormous interest rate so they declined the offer. Too late though because they have your details. Change any phone numbers you are capable of changing and put everyone on notice.
I have been getting these same calls on my cell phone and on my work number. My job was been placed in jeopardy because they are calling. I have actually spoken to these people on several occasions and asked them to provide proof of such debt. Nothing ever comes. They have told me that they will keep calling my job because they want me to lose my job. I cannot afford to lose my job. Someone please help me, what can I do!? They called again today at work and told one of my coworkers that it was an emergency. When they told me the circumstances of the call, I told them to hang up. He called right back. Another receptionist took the call and he stated it was an emergency. She pressed for a name and number and he said " I said it was an emergency!!!". Reluctantly, he gave a name of Steven Woods and a number of 347-289-3902. I need them to stop calling my job before I am fired. Any advice?
