I got the same exact call yesterday and sounds like same person. I blocked my call when I called back and his voicemail says deputy someone. SCAM for sure! Wish they could do something to these crooks!
I got a call today from this number stating that they are from the U.S. Treasury asking for my daughter. The man had a very thick accent.
She hasn't lived at home in years. I took his number and then called back. I swear the same person answered the phone, but when I asked for Mr. **** he said that that was his deputy. Also, when I asked for a 800 number he said that the number he gave was his private line. Since when does the U.S. Gov't not have a toll free number? Sounds very 'HINKY' to me.
I don't think I'll be giving this number to my daughter!
A lady left two separate messages on our answering machine at home yesterday 8/13/14 stating to call back immediately due to an urgent legal matter. I called the phone number back today 8/14/15 at 9:20am and spoke to a gentleman with a strong accent who asked my name and home phone number. He asked who was Robert? I explained he was my husband and was not available right now. He then proceeded to tell me that Robert needed to call back within the hour or he was going to start legal proceedings and hung up on me. I was really concerned, so I called home and left my husband a message to call right away, however, he was out of the house. So, I then called back this gentleman and advised him that my husband could not call him within the hour because he was not at home. This gentleman got really angry and proceeded to yell at me stating "it was an emergency, he needed to call right away". When I really tried to explain he didn't want to listen at all, getting even angrier. I then stated to him that I believed this was a scam and was going to report him. At that point was when I looked up the phone number and found this information. Obviously it is a scam, so I called back my husband and told him not to do anything. I know we don't have any issues with the IRS either.
I received a call today from 347-305-1237. This guy went to great lengths to tell me how I have a warrant out for my arrest and he is letting me know he is sending the authorities to come and arrest me. I apparently defrauded the government for $3,989.16 on my 2012 tax return and they sent certified letters(which I never got) and they guy wouldn't tell me who signed for them(daahh). He got very upset when I asked him to spell his name and to repeat his badge number. I told him to give me the case number for my file and when he refused he got even more upset as I told him OBVIOUSLY this is a SCAM. I then hung up, but just in case as he said he was recording me, so was I recording him!!!!
