SCAM! Caller showed up as long distance, stated he's calling from windows tech support, when pressed for info, he gave this telephone # and his location as Salt Lake City. Had a very strong foreign accent and insisted he is not a scammer because he's not asking for banking info, that they are calling all windows users in Canada because there is a problem with windows software.
Got a call from this number. He said his name is Michael Williams from India. I asked him that he had a strange last name for a native of India, he said he was Christian and that's why he has that last name.
He was insisted that I go to my computer as the software has a virus affecting other users of this software. He knew my last name. I told him I would call him back.
My phone rang. Caller ID indicated this number: 347-318-1979 NY, NY. So, I pick up, and when I picked up, HIS phone started ringing, which he picked up on the 1st ring. He said "Hello" and I hung up.
What is this? My phone rings, picking up made his phone ring? Ugh.
People from this # have been calling for 2 years .asking for my husband who has been dead for 3 years, The phone rings, I pick up and then it rings where they are, It is always an Indian dialect, I have been telling them over and over that he is dead, I no longer have the computer they are calling about and have demanded always that they stop calling . It doesn't stop them. I have taken to threatening them with calling the cops . Maybe I should call the Federal Attorney of New York!
Aha, these guys again. I've gotten calls like this often over the years. I fell for it once. The software seems to work OK, but there are similar products available from reputable companies for much less than what these people want.
