I am about 99% certain they are using a system that takes what you say and uses voice recognition to play messages that sound very much like you are talking to a real person. But if you think about it, you can tell it's not. Try giving responses that are unusual and see what they say then. Even with normal responses you can tell if you pay close attention. It's like you are talking to a clever robot. :-)
Since this telemarketer / lead generator is using a recording, you can report them to the FTC at 1-888-382-1222 even if you are NOT on the federal do-not-call list. Report them. The more complaints the more likely they will be shut down and fined into the stone age. :-)
me too...says I need to extend my car warrenty, but does not know my cars make or model.

Caller ID just said New York NY. The guy calling knew my full name & make & model year of ny car. Wanted to sell me an extended warranty for my car. I've heard of this before and it sounded like a scam to me so i hung up. I called them back to see what would happen & i got a recording telling me to press 2 in order to ve placed on their Do Not Call list. We'll see.
